How to tell if your vitamin C is synthetic🤐 #shorts

Dr. Janine gives insight on how to know if your vitamin C is synthetic. If you look at the bottle ingredients and see ascorbic acid in brackets beside vitamin C it could be synthetic. It is synthetic especially if the ascorbic acid does not say where it is from. Your synthetic Vitamin C is probably made from genetically modified corn and sulfuric acid to extract that ascorbic acid. This means it has low bioavailability compared to vitamin C which naturally comes from things like berries. Dr. Janine suggests looking for whole-food vitamin C from camu camu berries and acerola cherries. Follow for more natural health tips🌿

  1. People reading this – the ‘synthetic and natural’ Vit C war is purely marketing and allure. Vit C in its purest form is L-Ascorbic Acid. The molecule is the same no matter where it is from. It is only that eating natural sources of Vit C also gives you other micronutrients that might help you more than taking pure Vit C. Like eating some fruit VS taking a supplement.

  2. This is fascinating, Dr. Janine! If we want to ensure we’re getting natural, non-synthetic Vitamin C, is it harder for manufacturers to put those whole-food extracts into convenient forms, like a capsule or tablet? I’d love to see a way to get a natural C dose in a small, tasteless, fast-dissolving format that avoids all the fillers and binding agents found in large pills.
